ART in diplomacy
The American Arts Conservancy supports the use of visual art as a powerful tool of diplomacy—fostering mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and national representation on the world stage. In collaboration with curators, artists, and strategic partners, AAC helps bring American art into diplomatic spaces where it speaks across languages, borders, and ideologies.
Through our engagement with U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide, including partnership support for the Department of State’s Art in Embassies program, we help facilitate exhibitions, artist placements, and cultural events that underscore the values of openness, freedom, and artistic excellence.
What We Support
“Through creative exchange, we advance diplomacy and celebrate the culture that defines us.”
— Erin M. Elmore, Esq. Director of Art in Embassies
Why give?
Art has the unique ability to open doors where politics may not. It invites connection, builds trust, and elevates shared human experience. By investing in Art in Diplomacy, we strengthen America’s presence abroad—not through power, but through culture.
By advancing American art on the world stage, we elevate cultural heritage as a form of national representation—one that speaks not through rhetoric, but through the universal language of creativity. In every placement, every exchange, and every conversation sparked by art, we reinforce the enduring message that culture is not merely what we create, but how we connect.
